Relationships consist of two...count them: 2 (✌) people working at maintaining a mutually-exclusive, mutually-specific, mutually-monogamous, and all-inclusive and intimate connection!!! So if he's a part-time lover, you're not in a relationship. If you're with him, but he's with her, you're not in a relationship. If you're waiting and he's stalling, you're not in a relationship. And if you're trying while he's flying, and it, more often than not, leaves you crying---#ChangeYourLocks!!! #NotNow#ButRightNow!!! #TimesAWasting!!! But more importantly, if he loves you...and I mean, loves you, like a man should love his woman, but YOU don't love yourself, you are not in a relationship. You cannot love another person, co-exist with another person romantically, or be trusted with the heart of another person, if you don't matter to yourself. #Period. A lack of self-love IS NOT selflessness or sacrifice, it's stupidity. And just like the above circumstances, it's dangerous. The reason love loses and relationships fail is because people aren't whole when they make their decisions (to date, love, marry, create families, etc.) and that always leads to dysfunction. Relationships require wholeness, dedication, understanding, self-love, and the ability to love another (as you love yourself). They also require the other person's want to be there. So stop trying to love anyone and everyone MORE than you love yourself. It may work for a while, but eventually creates stress, resentment, unhappiness, and destruction. #ThinkAboutIt!!!

AuthorI, Kanika Vann (writer, author, editor, journalist, poet, publisher, and love enthusiast), created Love: Possible© with the intent to help save my sisters from the unnecessary pain that accompanies the acceptance of confusion, dysfunction, and disrespect in our romantic relationships, but not without calling special attention to our most valuable relationship—the one we have with ourselves.
