![]() I find it funny that the things that symbolize relationships are the very things that fail to sustain them. Wedding rings don't make a marriage, the individuals working to keep their unions intact do. Facebook pages have never cemented anyone's relationships, the people behind those "in a relationship with..." statuses do. Anniversary dinners and lavish gifts can't possibly define a relationship, because the love, respect, fidelity, and honesty that holds them together should exist with or without the presence of money. We've gotten away from what love is; from what matters when two people come together and realize that they can't live another minute without the other. I'm convinced that women don't want husbands, they want weddings, and that men don't want wives, they want illusions.#GetAGripFolks. #IMeanReally. How you love that man/woman is the ultimate reflection of your commitment to them. [Everything else is just a bonus.] Gifts don't mean shit; words mean very little; titles are just names, and statuses are mostly for show. All we have to do is love and be loved to actually have love—mean it, and receive it. #NowCheckThat -Kanika A. Vann Author, Love: Possible

AuthorI, Kanika Vann (writer, author, editor, journalist, poet, publisher, and love enthusiast), created Love: Possible© with the intent to help save my sisters from the unnecessary pain that accompanies the acceptance of confusion, dysfunction, and disrespect in our romantic relationships, but not without calling special attention to our most valuable relationship—the one we have with ourselves.
