As long as it hurts, he matters. As long as you're bitter, she affects you.#YouCanLieAllYouWant, and say that you don't care, that "he ain't shit" or "forget that b*tch," but it's very evident, in those circumstances, that they still matter to you. All too often, I hear people say they hate their exes. I hear them complain about how they hurt them. Every now and again, I get to see the remnants of pain through the tears they shed, or the bitterness that lingers via the filth that they still shout months and years later. But we've got to let go of the pain. Love hurts when we lose it--we've all cried the morning after. Love disappoints us sometimes, and we have to regroup and get back up. But letting anger win won't help us. If so, holding on to that hurt will consume us. #IPromiseYou. So, one day at a time, we have to choose to be better. He hurt you? #LearnFromIt!!! She lied to you? Learn from it!!! But don't hate her. Don't try to forget him. Allow your heart to build upon the experience. I am living proof that you won't die, and there is life after heartache.

AuthorI, Kanika Vann (writer, author, editor, journalist, poet, publisher, and love enthusiast), created Love: Possible© with the intent to help save my sisters from the unnecessary pain that accompanies the acceptance of confusion, dysfunction, and disrespect in our romantic relationships, but not without calling special attention to our most valuable relationship—the one we have with ourselves.
